Abstract

The main purpose of Korean nursing

ties, and in-service training for nursing teachers; but there are many problems yet to be solved in developing guidance services for improving qualities of nurses¢¥
In this survey, we attempted a study of the problems of 273 nursing students in two nursing schools in Chonpuk province
in order to help us device methods to overcome problems in guidance services. We used an open questionnaire. The contents of the questionnaire covered 1) teacher-student relations, 2) school work, 3) relations between friends, 4) personality 5) emotion, 6) use of leisure time, 7) morals, 8) friendship with young men, 9) family relations, 10) economic life, 11) dormitory life, 12) physical health, 13) mental health, 14) future plans and ambitions, 15) clinical practice, 16) school life, etc.
The result of the survey may be summerized as follows:

the subject matter of their, courses. This statement suggests that teachers should give careful consideration to having much more contact with students in order to influence them for the good in a variety of way and not just simply to teach them the prescribed
\subject matter.
2. 0 er 50 % of the students answered ¢¥ that they study without planning and that they are unable to study efficiently because of the -want of reference materials and lack of suit?ble living conditions in the . dormitory. --.In _ order -t¢¥o¢¥ help study efficiently, the school authorities should pay attention to
performing guidance service and to improving the library, dormitory and other school facilities.
